Roysten Tan

Director

Roysten is the co-founder of EVO Lines (S) Pte Ltd and its group of companies.

He has 23 years of experience in sales and marketing. He has worked for DBS Bank and Evergreen Marine Corporation (Singapore) before embarking on this entrepreneur journey with EVO group of companies. In Evergreen, it was how he started learning about the shipping containerized business. During that time, the learning curve was steep for him. Tirelessly and patiently, acquiring his containerized shipping knowledge and experience. Importantly, his friendship began in Evergreen being acquainted to his current partner, Mr Lawrence Lim.

His primary role was conducting sales call and attending to customer’s requirements. The sales target and part of the KPI was on the number of containers the client base can shipped. Majority of the clients are exporters & commodities traders in Singapore. Being in the sales and marketing department of Evergreen, he was involved in the marketing strategies implementation by the department. He was in charge of the Intra Asia and India Sub continent trades. Managing the pricing with the set of customer’s base and space allocation was a daily affair, which was part of his duty. The reporting to HQ for the trades was also taken care by him.

Currently in EVO Lines, he is in charge of sales and marketing, HR, administration and accounting. He has become the Jack of all trades in the lean set-up of EVO Lines. His clients’ base managed commodities like rice, sugar, rubber, furniture, foodstuff and chemicals. 

He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Logistics) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia (RMIT). In addition, he has a Diploma in Business Studies, specializing in marketing from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore.

Lawrence Lim

Director

Lawrence started his shipping career at the age of 21 years old as a trans-shipment officer in NYK Line in the year 1994. In 1995, he joined the Taiwan Shipping giant – Evergreen Marine Corporation. With the experience and knowledge, his promotion was quick and swift. He was nominated as Best Employee of the year 1999/2010. He was known as a “Top Salesman” in the company then. He worked for Evergreen Marine Corporation for 7 years.

He left Evergreen in the year 2002 and set up EVO Lines (S) Pte Ltd with Roysten Tan. He contributed much on the setting up of EVO Freight Management Pte Ltd in year 2006 and EVO Green Transportation Pte Ltd in the year 2015 respectively. He specialises in the long-haul trade lanes like the Intra Asia-Europe and the Trans Pacific and managed about 3000 TEUs per year.

Lawrence is active in handling the business development for EVO Green. From a 3 old prime movers company, he added 4 new prime movers to the fleet. The company will be operating a total of 9 prime movers by June 2019. In addition, Lawrence has also started the road tankers business, dealing with base oil transportation for domestic market. EVO Green is currently operating 4 x 32,000L road tankers and 5 x 20’ISO Tankers. Additional 2 x 32,000L road tankers are to be delivered in June 2019.

Natalie Choo Sek Chiam

Director, EVO Green Transportation

Natalie Choo is a director of EVO Green Transportation Pte Ltd, a company that specialises in the movement of base oil and its products, as well as general cargo. Under her guidance, the company has tripled its fleet in under five years. As such, staff numbers have also grown accordingly to handle the increased clientele.

Prior to this, Natalie worked under her father, a 35-year veteran of the industry, in Ever Green Freight Forwarder. Learning the ropes there, she forged and consolidated her own connections and relationships within the logistics and shipping sector, while streamlining Ever Green’s operations over a period of six years.

She was responsible for the negotiations for the joint venture between Ever Green Freight Forwarder and EVO Lines, which led to the establishment of EVO Green Transportation, now a well known name in the industry. The company also boasts of the largest road tankers in Singapore, able to transport 32,000 litres of base oil in a single trip, saving time and money for their customers. Additionally, EVO Green also contributes its resources to the annual National Day Parade that is organised by the Singapore Armed Forces.

Natalie herself is a married mother of one, and graduated from the Singapore Institute of Management with a degree in Economics and Management jointly awarded with the University of London. She was also recognised by SME100 for Fast Moving Companies in 2017 for her leadership of EVO Green Transportation Pte Ltd.

Timothy Phua Peng Yong

Director, EVO shipping agencies

Timothy has been in the shipping industry for 2 decades. He specializes in working on Containerized and Semi-Containerized Vessel Operators environment and handles Loose Container Load and Total Logistics Supply Chain.

His main roles and responsibilities are in sales and marketing dealing with direct shippers and traders.

A self-motivated individual with a creative mindset, he is able to create the environment and opportunities whereby his direct clients benefits from cost savings.

Martin Neo

Director, EVO Freight Management

Martin  started his career at the age of 20 years old as a Import/Export Documentation Officer in a Forwarding Company After 5 years he moved on to a Korean shipping company as a Regional Shipping Executive. With the experience and knowledge, he was given the opportunity to perform local Sales/Marketing for a total of 16 years.

He left the shipping company and set up EVO Freight Management Pte Ltd in the year 2011 with Lawrence Lim and Roysten Tan.
